MANA- Best Vegetarian
Readers' Choice nominee

"This place is like a second home to many healthful locals, serving greens, grains and beans, Asian-influenced stews and noodle dishes and even organic-fish for those needing a big dose of protein. The main dish of vegetable gomae - a rich stew of chunky vegetables, seitan (wheat gluten) and tofu in a creamy miso-sesame-garlic sauce - is a standout."

This is vegetarian food that even a meatlover like me could love. What I love is that all the ingredients are fresh and very tasty. I highly recommend the yuba rolls in broth and the spring roll which is better than the usual spring roll you get elsewhere. I often get the Simple Palette plate, which is a macro plate. Tonight it was served with steamed greens, pieces of winter squash, black beans, hijiki seaweed, and the grain was sweet rice with millet and cauliflower. I've had fish there also - very nicely and simply done. Mana also has an short but very excellent list of wines by the glass, as well as sake and a full complement of teas and other beverages. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. All in all, it's always a pleasant experience and very satisfying.

Pros: Inexpensive
